Domano and Chea, Kay’s adopted Peruvian grandparents and teachers, came to the Western world to share a teaching they say we have long since dangerously lost. When they found Kay, she was a housewife and single mother of two. She intuitively knew there was something seriously wrong with the modern culture, the way of life in the modern world, but she didn’t have many details as to why, and she didn’t think there was anything “little she” could do about it.
Her life began to change dramatically after her first encounter with Domano on a stormy day at the cliffs on the beach of Santa Cruze, CA, and after diving into a more than 13-year apprenticeship with him and his companion Chea. To learn how fundamentally and dramatically her life changed, read The Reluctant Shaman - A Women’s First Encounters With The Unseen Spirits Of The Earth.
If you are planning to learn to use the Red Door for healing, get and read The Reluctant Shaman anyway, so you can find out more about the journey of the woman who created it and the vast body of ancient teachings in which the creation of the Red Door is rooted.
We often refer to the Red Door as a radionics device. While accurate, that scarcely does it justice, and when you read the book, you gain a deeper understanding of why the Red Door is so much more than “just” a radionics device.
What was unique about the ways Domano and Chea taught Kay was their primary focus on guiding her to free herself from the shackles, from the confines of the prison of her cultural programming. It was important for Kay to gain a much clearer understanding of who she is, of her Song, as they called it so that they could really get to work on teaching her about the mysteries and magic their ancient teachings offered.
One of the first experiences they guided Kay was shaking her off her web, shaking her loose of the way of thinking and understanding the world her culture has programmed her with. It was unsettling for her, to say the least, but Domano and Chea knew that this was necessary to make her shift and begin to free herself of the severely constricting thought forms of the paradigm of modern ways of life. You can read all about it in chapter three of The Reluctant Shaman, Meeting Death And Destiny.
It is the cultural programming, the blind beliefs, the masks that we are so heavily programmed with all of our lives that keep us from learning our potential as humans and growing into the fullness of our beauty and power. Domano and Chea knew how devastatingly intense and thorough modern people’s programming kept them in a state of asleepness, coma-like as they called it. The term they used to express how severely asleep modern homes are was “the walking dead.” To be shaken loose of this intense programming is a foundational requirement to begin to learn to understand the infinite expanse of the beauty and potential of life, of being alive.
Without doing this clearing work, spiritual progress is possible, but only to a certain level, and that level ain’t much compared to what we are truly capable of and who we really are. The vast majority of spiritual offers in our modern world have barely begun to understand, let alone use that approach to waking up. The importance of freeing yourself of your masks on a spiritual journey of true awakening is severely underappreciated.
Receiving all the benefits of having two Peruvian Shamans guide her in unchaining herself from that programming, she was increasingly able to learn and understand the secret ways of the ancient teachings with clarity and accuracy.
When your path of awakening does not include this focus on removing your mask programming, you are not on a path of awakening. Yes, you learn and grow a bit, but knowing the full extent of your potential and gifts and expressing them in the world will elude you because you are still living and working inside your old ways, your old way of thinking and understanding reality, yourself, and the world.
Domano and Chea compared it with living inside a little box. There are no doors or windows, only a TV and a headset through which the culture, the system indoctrinates you how to think and live. And that’s all you know of yourself and life. Most modern humans live that way, isolated and disconnected from life, others, and the world. That’s their life.
Embarking on a spiritual journey with that intense history of programming will allow you to learn to understand only as much as the confines and restrictions of the little box and the TV and headset allow, until you went through rigorous training of freeing yourself from that programming. Otherwise, it will be impossible to know the infinite beauty of your spirit, of being fully awake, of the sheer unimaginable expanse of the diversity of possibilities of what life in this universe is and offers you.
I guarantee you; you would be surprised to find out how many of our homo sapiens friends are still living inside that box and how little the religions and modern spiritual teachings of this world offer to help them get out.
My point? Kay was no longer limited by that programming when she developed the Red Door. She had learned to reach for connection and understanding deep into the spirit world and the Akashic records and what her training in the ancient ways has taught here. In other words the realms and beings and wisdom and knowledge involved in creating the Red Door is vast and far-reaching into ancient teachings.
The more you work on freeing yourself from your masks, the greater your chance to learn more about what the ancient teachings offer with clarity and accuracy. And if you don’t do the real work, everything you think you have learned is watered down and filtered through your masks. Domano and Chea did their utmost to ensure that what Kay was learning was never watered down under their guidance and throughout her life.
I hope I am able to convey a deeper understanding that the Red Door is not just another healing instrument that somebody came up with, and what it represents and brings to any healing work goes way deeper and reaches further back than that.
Clarity and accuracy along with unconditional love are hallmarks of how Domano and Chea guided Kay; therefore, clarity and accuracy is how she walks her spiritual path, and passes that knowledge on, along with infinite unconditional love.
About a decade into her apprenticeship with Domano and Chea, Kay came across Egyptian Mystery teachings, which she was very much drawn to. She asked Domano and Chea if it was ok for her to study these ancient teachings. And they both said she could learn a lot from them, too. But to keep vigilant, remember her training, and approach the studies of those teachings with the same rigor for clarity and accuracy as they have taught her. They also said there would come a time when she knew she had to distance herself from the teacher she found, and that time did come.
What has all that got to do with the Red Door, you ask? Well, everything. Studying the vast knowledge of the Peruvian Shamanic and the pre-flood Egyptian teachings from a mind and heart free of cultural programming made it possible for Kay to create something as remarkable as the Red Door. A tool that has limitless use when it comes to doing healing work.
In addition, when she added the Coherence Programs, which are as deeply rooted in the ancient teachings as the Red Door, the effectiveness of Red Door healing work took a significant leap.
The first thing we, and many Ka Ta See practitioners, do when encountering a health problem is work with the Red Door. It has become an essential, indispensable, and very effective part of any healing work we do for ourselves, our families, friends, and clients.
