“There simply is no polite way to tell people that they have dedicated their lives to illusions.” - Daniel Dennett.
As Mark Twain said, “How easy it is to make people believe a lie, and how hard it is to undo that work again!”
Great minds throughout history have always maintained that the greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance but rather the illusion of knowledge.
Arrogance about what one knows, our convictions that we KNOW THE TRUTH, always comes from a place of illusion of knowledge.
Coincidently, our convictions that we are not suffering from and are not profoundly stooped in cognitive dissonance but know the truth of things keeps us living in violence towards ourselves, each other, and the earth; it keeps us arguing and fighting with each other about who’s illusions are the right ones, and it is what keeps us asleep and enslaved. When we live this way, love and truth suffocate and die a slow, agonizing death.
Almost everything in modern society is designed to reinforce us to live this way because, as long as we live like this, our oppressors have us behaving precisely how they like it and can continue to plunder and ravage us and the earth with savage abandon.
What they fear most is that we find our way back to love, to loving ourselves and each other, that we realize that we are love and everything and everyone else is love, because when we do, they lose all power of control over us.
Any true spiritual awakening journey inevitably leads to love. Not the muggle culture’s version of conditional love that we have been programmed to live. Ironically, that is just another illusion to keep us asleep and separated. I’m talking about unconditional love inherent in all creation. The unconditional love we have been programmed to turn a blind eye to. That is the kind of love we need to revive and return to living if we want to taste and restore freedom to our lives and the earth.
To better understand what that looks like, check out the frog story we just shared. Because frog’s gift is to sing and live that kind of love all day, every day, she can’t help it; she doesn’t know how not to live this way, and so it emanates out of her, it’s effervescent and touches everything all the time. It shifts all being’s vibrations toward living this way, towards knowing and living unconditional love.

Enjoy!
