What’s the secret to living a good, full, happy, magical, mystical mystery life of love and beauty, the bottom line secret? What is it all about?
Many ideas are floating around about what it is all about, and most of them aren’t entirely off the mark, but they aren’t exactly telling the whole story.
So much can be brought to a dialogue about what it’s all about.
To begin with, the main issue for each of us individually is how we answer this question for ourselves. And with that question comes one just as important, is your cultural programming answering, or is the answer coming from your true self, from the beauty of the core of the truth of your cosmic beingness, from what we call your Song?
Cause one source feeds you made-up muggle bubble-programmed garbage, and the other feeds your Song.
So, how do you answer these questions?
Who am I?
What am I all about?
What is my life all about?
What is life all about?
You know, all that meaning of life stuff!
Is it love?
Is it relationships?
Is it family and friends?
Is it happiness?
Is it beauty?
Is it passion?
Is it awakening?
Is it the field?
Is it god?
Or Work?
Or Art?
Or Valor?
Or Honor?
Or Integrity?
I hope most of these things and many others are part of your life.
I just recently shared again about our elders, Domano and Chea Hetaka, always emphasizing that the most important thing you can do for yourself and the world is to walk a path of awakening and let yourself be happy.
Which is a truth carried through the ages.
But what is more than anything guiding your ability to be happy and walk a genuine path of awakening? What is at the heart of our humanity, at the core of it all?
Attention!
We are pure attention, pure awareness, pure consciousness. Gaining the “ability” to purposefully focus your attention is the big ancient mystical secret key. It is the heart of it all. The bottom line of all the ancient teachings is learning to reclaim this power; it is the path to freedom. And the reason these ancient teachings of Ka Ta See are so profoundly healing and empowering is because first and foremost, it is a tradition of building your attention.
Attention is the big mystical core.
“Consciousness is our ability to focus our attention. Our power is our ability and willingness to choose to use our ability to focus our attention.”
Whoever and whatever you give control of your attention controls your level of consciousness; they control your experience of life; they control your life.
As Chea so beautifully poetically put it:
"Balance is a state due to equilibriums. Equity and harmony with the self and all forms. The world looks very different when we learn how to shift and redirect our attention. The unfathomable beauty, the joy, the extraordinary amount and feeling of exchange with other forms. It is a human heritage."
- Chea Hetaka, The Reluctant Shaman by Kay Cordell Whitaker
One of the biggest secrets to building your attention and the reason why so many people attempting it are not making much progress is that it is a feeling-experience adventure and not a process of the mind.
Your mind is but a tool, an important tool for your being to use to learn to understand the knowingness that the feeling experiences offer fully. But it is just a tool.
If you are using your mind as the key to regaining control of your attention, then you are attempting to train a group of a thousand cats to follow your command. Good luck with that, is all I can say.
Attention is the focus of the second day of the Healing Arts Level One Course, but it is something that is taught throughout all the Ka Ta See Studies simply because it is that important.
